The Mobil Rarus ™ 800 series consists of a range of superior performance air compressor oils, which are primarily intended for use in piston compressors operating in demanding operating conditions. They are not recommended for use in breathing air compressors. The air compressor oils are designed to meet or exceed the stringent requirements of the leading compressor manufacturers. They are made from design-specific synthetic base oils, and a high-tech additive system that ensures exceptional protection and reliability of compressors used in conditions where mineral oil-based products are unsatisfactory. The Mobil Rarus 800 series provides excellent wear protection and superior resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation, making these oils superior to mineral oils. The special composition helps reduce maintenance costs by minimizing equipment problems, as well as downstream deposits and entrainment. The Mobil Rarus 800 series significantly reduces the risk of fire and explosion compared to mineral oil-based products. They make virtually no deposits, and a high self-ignition temperature improves both performance and safety. The excellent ability to separate water reduces the problems of emulsion formation and entrainment of downstream pipes and equipment. They are recommended or approved by many of the leading compressor manufacturers.
