The Mobil SHC Cibus ™ range consists of superior performance hydraulic, compressor, gear and bearing oils designed to provide long life, outstanding protection and trouble-free operation of machines used in the food, beverage and packaging industries. The products are made from FDA- and NSF-registered base oils and additives. The combination of the naturally high viscosity index and the patented additive system makes the Mobil SHC Cibus series well suited for use in a variety of areas at high and low temperatures, high loads and water wash to an extent well beyond the capacity of ordinary mineral oils.

Mobil SHC Cibus lubricating oils are NSF H1 registered and also comply with Title 21 CFR 178.3570 of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on lubricants that may come into contact with foods. In addition, they have the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's approval for use in the food industry. In addition, the Mobil SHC Cibus lubrication oils are manufactured in ISO 22000 certified plants that also meet the requirements of ISO 21469 to ensure the highest levels of product integrity are maintained. Furthermore, the products are also suitable for the production of kosher and halal foods, as well as foods to be prepared for other faiths, and provide maximum flexibility during operation. The products have a faint color, little odor and are produced without the use of animal products and allergens from nuts, wheat or gluten.

Mobil SHC Cibus lubrication oils have a low traction coefficient due to the molecular structure of the base oils used. This results in low fluid friction in the loading zone on non-conforming surfaces. Low fluid friction results in lower operating temperature and improved equipment efficiency, which means reduced energy consumption. It also helps to extend machine life and allow for more economical machine designs. Otherwise, the additive system used in these oils is selected to provide good wear protection, excellent oxidation stability, protection against rust and corrosion even in humid environments, and good system cleanliness. The lubricating oils are also compatible with the packing and construction materials used in equipment usually lubricated with mineral oil.

The Mobil SHC Cibus series lubricating oils can be used as hydraulic, gear, bearing and circulation oils in all food production applications and can be included as part of a HACCP plan.
